Executive Council Participates in Service Project at TMT Farms
Ogeechee Technical College

Ogeechee Technical College President Lori Durden joined her Executive Council on a chilly Thursday evening volunteering at the TMT Farms famous Christmas Lights Drive-Thru in Statesboro. The spirited team spent just over four hours collecting and welcoming visitors.

“It was so great to see the hundreds of donations that came through in such a short period of time that will go to benefit members of the local community,” Durden said.  “It reminds me of just how lucky we are to live in such a kind and giving community. I was humbled by the generosity that was displayed, and our team was proud to play a very small part in the wonderful ministry that has been created by the Thompson family.”

TMT Farms runs their annual light show at no cost to the public; however, they accept donations in the form of non-perishable food items, unwrapped toys, dog-and-cat food and supplies, as well as monetary donations that are used for gift cards and to help families in need pay their monthly bills.

“We established Ogeechee on the Go to encourage our employees and students to give back to community through service, and this is just one example of that program in action,” Durden said. “I know that everyone that came through seemed to really enjoy the lights, but I know that our group derived just as much enjoyment.”
