David Raulerson is a native of Georgia. He graduated from Bradwell Institute High School in Hinesville, GA, and then attended Memorial Medical Center School of Radiology in Savannah, GA. After completing his diploma in Radiology and passing a registry in Radiography, he also received advanced registries in Computed Tomography, Abdominal Ultrasound and Vascular Ultrasound. David continued his education and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, ME, graduating summa cum laude.

Prior to coming to Ogeechee Technical College, David was employed at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah as a Radiographer. For the next 35 years he worked as Radiology Administrator at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, GA. In addition he was the hospital-wide Picture Imaging Coordinator for Evans Memorial for two years at which time EMH received the highest score from the Joint Commission on an inspection.

During his tenure as Radiology Administrator, David oversaw installation of, directed and managed one of the first Radiology PACS solutions in the area which is still in use at Evans Memorial Hospital. In addition he directed and installed a new hospital network with fiber optic cabling and WEB connections for the use of the PACS system.

David worked to establish Evans Memorial Hospital as one of the first clinical sites for Ogeechee Technical College’s Radiology program. During that period of time until he was employed at OTC he was on the OTC Radiology Program Advisory Committee.

David is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologist, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators, the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, and the Georgia Educators Association of Radiation and Medical Imaging.

Program Goals

  1. Encourage all PACs students to pursue certification PACs.

  2. Encourage all PACs students to do dual enrollment in networking due to the market demand for more networking experience and networking training.

  3. Provide the PACs students with experience with the latest PACs equipment and software.

  4. Through the 30 weeks of hands-on clinical experience help provide real-time work experience prior to graduation.

  5. Provide the students with a flexible education that gives them multiple opportunities for employment.

Program Strategic Objective


The program is designed to fill the need of hospitals and imaging centers which need qualified PACS Specialists with training in both Information Technology and Imaging Sciences as well as providing the training necessary to manage the operations of a PACS environment.
