Paramedicine Program Gains Ambulance Simulator
Ogeechee Technical College
     ambulance simulator

Ogeechee Technical College recently purchased a state-of-the-art ambulance simulator for the Paramedicine program, which includes Paramedic, Advanced EMT, and EMT students. For students and licensed medics, simulation can be the greatest learning tool aside from actual reality. Performing required skills on task trainers, simple manikins, and even advanced "live-simulation" allows students to gain hands-on experience with scenarios that they will encounter on the job. According to Program Director Josh Kaiser, the ambulance simulator puts the students in the environment where they spend most of their time delivering care and gives them the opportunity to become comfortable with their work environment. Video cameras and audio equipment allow the instructor to give direction from a remote location while also allowing other students to watch the simulation. Paramedicine faculty and students are very excited to begin using the simulator.
