Funeral Service Education Instructor

Description:

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for Funeral Service Education program. Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. Must be a graduate of a funeral service education institution accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. Must hold valid Georgia Funeral Director’s and Embalmer’s licenses.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must be willing to earn a Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university within five years of initial appointment date. Experience in teaching and curriculum development. Active participate in appropriate professional/occupational organizations. Minimum of 6 months (in the last 2 years) demonstrated teaching and/or work experience in Funeral Service Education.

Wildlife and Plantation Management Instructor

Status:

Description:

Responsible for classroom and laboratory instruction for the Wildlife and Plantation Management program to include: preparing lesson plans, developing syllabi, updating curriculum, developing goals and objectives, evaluating and advising students, maintaining lab/equipment, completing annual staff development activities, assisting with student recruitment, retention, and job placement. Teaching emphasis for this position will be forest/fisheries management and safe operation of equipment used in these activities.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management or closely related field from an accredited institution that included a total of at least 30 semester/45 quarter hours in biological or physical sciences, of which at least 18 semester/30 quarter hours of course work were in wildlife, fisheries, forestry, or natural resources management. A minimum of two years full-time paid, in-field teaching/work experience within the past five years. In-field experience is experience which is related to the line of work of the position to be filled, and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must be able to operate a state-owned motor vehicle. A valid state driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree in wildlife or fisheries sciences, forestry or natural resources management, or a closely related field. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level; a CDL, active participation in appropriate professional/occupational organizations; excellent human relations and communication skills; computer skills and experience with common software used in the classroom.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Instructor

Description:

Develops, implements, and maintains standards in accordance with Joint Review Committee on Eduation of Radiologic Technologists (JRCERT) accreditation guidelines. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Required Qualifications:

Must have current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in magnetic resonance. Must have the equivalent of two years full-time clinical experience in the professional discipline. Must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Clinical Coordinator/Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor

Description:

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Develops program syllabi and goals and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. Coordinates clinical education with didactic education as assigned by program director. Develops and supervises clinical sites, adhering to state curriculum standards. Develops, implements, and maintains standards in accordance with CAAHEP accreditation guidelines. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma in DMS from an accredited college or university. Proficient in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance. Appropriately credentialed sonographer and/or vascular technologist. At least two years of full-time clinical experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer and/or vascular technologists. Certified by the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (AB, OB). Excellent human relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Experience in instruction, instructional methodologies, and evaluation and assessment. Certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Abdomen, OB, Vascular Technology (AB, OB, VT). Active participation in appropriate professional/occupational organizations.
