PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Ogeechee Technical College Radiologic Technology Program is to provide educational opportunities to individuals that will enable them to obtain the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to succeed as Radiologic Technologists.

Program Goals
Goal 1
Students will demonstrate competency in performing radiographic imaging procedures.
Goal 2
Students will communicate in a competent professional manner.
Goal 3
Students will have the skills needed to think critically and problem solve in their work environment and careers.
Goal 4
Students will develop professional ethics and a desire for life-long learning.
Goal 5
Graduates will be employable and meet the needs of the community.

The Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3182.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

  • Minimum age is 18
  • High school diploma/GED required for program admission
  • High school diploma/GED required for program completion
  • Test scores required
  • Completion of the Imaging Science Services Assistant certificate
    (the ISSA certificate must be completed by the end of Spring quarter prior to Fall program admission)
  • “C” or better in all Imaging Science Services Assistant coursework
  • Overall GPA of 2.5 or better in all Imaging Science Services Assistant coursework
  • Health Occupations Aptitude Examination scores required with at least a 30th percentile in four of the five designated areas (excludes Spelling section)

Note:

The number of students accepted into the Radiologic Technology program is based on the standards

set by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), which are based

on the availability of the program’s clinical education settings.

A non-discriminatory policy and a pregnancy policy are available upon request.

If an applicant is not accepted into the program and wishes to try again, he/she must submit another application and meet all admission criteria with the exception of payment of application fee.
