A Patient Care Assistant (Certified Nursing Assistant or CNA) is one of the most valuable assets to the health care team.  The Patient Care Assistant gives most of the basic care to the patients.  This program is designed to introduce the student to the basic medical terms, basic nursing skills, and the physical and psychological symptoms of the aging process.  The student will learn to appreciate each patient as a human being who has emotional and social needs as well as physical needs.

"Only" a CNA?

by Dawn Mazzola

You can't be referred to as
"Only" a CNA?
You're the one's who wash and dress,
The patients for the day.

You're the one's who take the time,
To listen to them speak.
You listen about their lifetime,
In a forty hour week.

You also give a hand to hold,
When someone's feeling scared.
It's not easy being a patient,
They're never quite prepared.

You help the patients do the things,
They used to do on their own.
Everybody needs some help,
Even when they're grown.

So, CNA's keep your head held high!
You're not "only" CNA's.

You're angel's in disguise!
