Advisory Committees Meet

Advisory committee members enjoy refreshments before their meetings.

Faculty, staff, and administration of Ogeechee Technical College met with program Advisory Committee members for a variety of areas of study recently.  Advisory committees are made up of members of the public who have a particular interest and/or expertise in the program area for which they serve.  “The input we receive from Advisory Committee members is very valuable in strengthening our programs, and assuring our students are meeting the needs of various industries,” commented Dr. Dawn Cartee, President of Ogeechee Tech.  Ogeechee Tech instructors meet with Advisory members a minimum of twice per year, but often more than that, to get input on how programs at Ogeechee Tech may be improved.  “We take the comments of Advisory members seriously, and use them to make improvements where needed.  They are also good sounding boards to determine the positive things that we are already doing.  They often validate the practices which we already have in place by providing positive feedback to us,” Cartee further commented.
