Ogeechee Tech BBQ Cook-Off Team
Congratulations to the Ogeechee Tech BBQ Cook-off team who participated in the Celebration South Music Festival and BBQ Cook-off event on Saturday, April 19. Chief BBQ cooks Bryan Richard and John Witherington, along with students of the Culinary Arts, and Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management classes, as well as others from Ogeechee Tech, were on-hand to prepare Bar-B-Q samples for hundreds of attendees. The Ogeechee Tech team won nearly every first place award at the event, including Best Theme (decorations), Best Sauce, and Best Overall BBQ. The Festival, held in downtown Statesboro, drew thousands of attendees for music, crafts vendors, food vendors, children’s activities, and of course the BBQ cook-off. Contact: Barry Turner |
