Governor to Speak at Ogeechee Technical College President, Dr. Dawn Cartee, announces commencement exercises to be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Hanner Field House on the Georgia Southern University campus. Eligible candidates for degrees, diplomas, certificates, and GED certificates may participate in the ceremony. Ogeechee Tech typically holds one commencement each year in the spring. In discussing the upcoming event, Cartee stated, “We are happy to announce that Governor Sonny Perdue has agreed to be our keynote speaker for this year’s commencement.” “This is such a special time for students and their families. We are always mindful of providing a dignified, yet exciting atmosphere in which to receive recognition and a degree, certificate or diploma. Having the Governor here will make the event even more special for our candidates,” said Cartee. “We appreciate the opportunity to utilize Hanner Field House to allow us to comfortably accommodate as many family and friends as possible for the event. Other venues which were used in the past often overflowed, but we should have plenty of room for anyone who wishes to attend our ceremony on May 15 to celebrate with their graduate,” Cartee concluded.
