OTC Adult Education EAGLE Ogeechee Technical College Adult Education student, Danielle Wadley, recently accepted her Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) award from Technical College System Commissioner, Ron Jackson, and Assistant Commissioner, Dr. Josephine Reed-Taylor, at the annual EAGLE awards banquet in Atlanta. Wadley, a student at the Ogeechee Tech Screven Center in Sylvania, achieved her award by winning the local service delivery area competition held at the Bulloch County Adult Education Center in November of last year. OTC’s primary service delivery areas are Bulloch, Screven, and Evans counties. By winning, she becomes the 2008 ambassador for OTC's Adult Education program. The EAGLE program recognizes and honors students from throughout the state that have demonstrated exceptional achievement and leadership qualities in their adult education classes. As OTC's EAGLE ambassador, Wadley earned the right to attend the 2008 EAGLE Leadership Institute held in Atlanta February 13-15. During the Leadership Institute, EAGLE participants had the opportunity to tour the World of Coke, and visit the State Capitol while the legislature was in session. Students attended professional development sessions informing them of opportunities to transition into the Technical College System of Georgia. Also attending the banquet on behalf of Ogeechee Tech were Dr. Jessie Strickland, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Pama Caraway, Dean of Adult Education, and Tina Scott, nominating instructor.
