Ogeechee Tech Foundation Announces Dates for 2008 Campaign

The Ogeechee Tech Foundation, Inc. has determined dates for the 2008 fund raising campaign, according to Beth Mathews, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Ogeechee Technical College.  The Foundation’s iGot (I Gave to Ogeechee Tech) initiative will cover several dates in the College’s three-county service area.  According to Mathews, the OTC internal campaign will be February 29, at which employees of the College will have the opportunity to pledge support to the Foundation for a new year.

On March 3 an OTC Spirit Night will be held at the Local Chick-fil-A restaurant in Statesboro.  Ogeechee Tech supporters will have an opportunity to greet diners, and will bus tables for tips.  A percentage of the sales for a two-hour period will also be given to the Foundation.

The Bulloch County campaign will be held on March 11.  Dates for subsequent campaigns in Evans and Screven Counties will also be announced.  The 2008 campaign has been moved to earlier in the year, after having been held in May for many years.  “We feel that May has become such a busy month that our campaign will be more easily managed in an earlier month, therefore we have decided to move the date to March,” stated Mathews.  Dr. Dawn Cartee, president of Ogeechee Technical College stated, “I can not emphasize enough how much the Foundation’s support helps our College and our students.  Without the supplemental funds provided by the Foundation, we would not be nearly as successful in providing vital services to your students.”  The Foundation supports the College with scholarship funds, and funds for equipment and other initiatives, that are not funded through the regular budget of the College.

Those interested in volunteering to help with the iGot campaign, or who may wish to contribute, should contact Beth Mathews at 912.688.6016.  To learn more about Ogeechee Technical College or the Ogeechee Tech Foundation, Inc. please visit www.ogeecheetech.edu.
