Ogeechee Tech Receives
The team of 10 TCSG representatives dispersed to various areas of the campus upon arrival and subsequently met as a group to present findings. Assessment of the need for improvement was completed and the team determined that Ogeechee Tech had no areas requiring recommendations or suggestions. The College received a commendation from the team for the organization of materials. The PAR group actually completed their review in record time due to the efficient manner in which the requested materials were provided. In discussing the PAR visit, Dr. Dawn Cartee, President of Ogeechee Tech, stated, “The results of our PAR visit were very favorable, and we could not be more pleased to know that a group of our peers from other colleges and from our central office has found OTC to be more than sufficient in the provision of instruction and services to our students, so much so that there were no recommendations, or even suggestions, for improvement.” Cartee went on to say, “This report is validation of the hard work and effort that all of our faculty and staff put forth daily for our students. While every employee of Ogeechee Tech worked to make this visit a success, I must single out two individuals who played especially important roles in this successful visit. Dianne Stewart, our Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, and Teresa Allen, our Director of Research and Planning spear-headed the efforts to prepare for the PAR visit, and both deserve a special measure of thanks.” A Performance Accountability Review visit typically takes place every three years, and is only one of the measures of compliance with standards which the College must undergo. Individual program accreditation visits, and general College accreditation visits also ensure Ogeechee Tech is providing the level of instruction and service required to meet the needs of students. “While we are always concerned with self-improvement, we welcome these reviews and outside inspections as a catalyst to work even harder to achieve greater levels of competency in all areas of our College,” Cartee concluded.
