Bryan County 8th Graders
Ogeechee Technical College and the Stay in School (SIS) program hosted 135 Bryan County Middle School eighth graders on February 5th and 7th. Students were tested to help determine career interests, academic proficiency, and were given tours of the Ogeechee Tech campus to help inspire interest in working hard toward completing high school and post-secondary education in pursuit of a career. Students were given information by a number of OTC instructors about a wide variety of programs offered at the College. Jeanne Anne Marsh, SIS Coordinator welcomed the students and introduced them to their tour guides—also known as OTC faculty & staff. “It is important to show students the opportunities that exist for them if they stay in school, graduate, and continue their education past high school. Our program demonstrates to students the vast array of interesting careers they may choose to pursue if they work hard and complete high school,” Marsh commented. Ogeechee Tech routinely welcomes middle and high school students to campus to provide the students with information about over 100 programs of study offered at the College.
