OTC Has Program Showcase
at Screven County High

OTC instructor James Price discusses Horticulture with a Screven County student.

Faculty and staff of Ogeechee Technical College recently traveled to Screven County High School in Sylvania with a program showcase to allow students to learn about the wide cross-section of programs offered at the College.  Students visited with instructors to discuss the opportunities available through the instructional programs and associated careers.  Approximately 600 students rotated through sessions with instructors and representatives of Admissions, Financial Aid, and other Student Affairs areas. 

“This is a great way to reach a large number of students at one time, and to give them the chance to learn about education and career options which they may not have thought about,” commented Dr. Jessie Strickland, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Ogeechee Tech.  “We are always excited to be able to reach this many students at once.  Often high school students don’t consider certain career options until they actually have the opportunity for one-on-one discussion—we are happy to offer that exposure,” Strickland further stated.
