Ogeechee Tech Students Assist
Ogeechee Technical College students in the Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, and Nursing programs recently visited Viracon Corporation in Statesboro to assist in a plant-wide health fair for employees. A total of 600 employees participated in the mandatory in-service. The Ogeechee Tech students were there to assist in checking blood pressure, blood sugar, height, weight, and body mass index. There were also representatives from the American Cancer Society, local gyms, and diet and nutrition specialists. Karen Grabenstein, EMS Program chair/instructor from Ogeechee Tech stated, “This was a great chance for our students to get experience on a large-scale with taking vital signs and other tests. We were glad to assist Viracon with this project, not only to help them, but to offer our students a valuable clinical experience.” To learn more about any medical program at Ogeechee Tech, visit www.ogeecheetech.edu.
