Jim Mitchell Joins LEA at Ogeechee Tech

Jim Mitchell is a full time instructor at the Ogeechee Technical College Regional Law Enforcement Academy located in Claxton, Georgia. Jim is a 15 year veteran police officer. His former assignments include Detective Supervisor, SWAT Team Leader, and Crime Scene Investigator. Prior to launching his police career, Jim was a member of the United States Army for 18 years as an Airborne Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment, and later as a Special Forces soldier. A veteran of numerous overseas deployments, Jim has recently returned from Afghanistan, where he served as a combat advisor to Afghan forces involved in counterinsurgency operations.

Jim has been teaching basic and advanced courses to police officers for more than ten years. He resides near Savannah with his wife and young son.
