The 2010 TIEGA (Trade and Industrial Educators of Georgia) and HSTEA (Healthcare Science Technology Educators Association) Winter Conference was held at Ogeechee Technical College Saturday, January 30 from 8:00am to 3:30pm. Opening sessions for this conference were held Friday, January 29 at Statesboro High School with Keynote Speaker Senator Jack Hill addressing the group. There were over 300 people in attendance and over 30 different breakout sessions offered. Participants were made up of current and retired high school educators from around the state. Several Ogeechee Tech instructors, as well as various industry representatives, conducted the breakout sessions. This is the first time this event has been held in Statesboro. Rusty Denning, who coordinated the event on the OTC campus, stated, “This was a great way to showcase what our College has to offer with programs, faculty members, and facilities.”
