Program Accreditation

The Dental Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements." The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). www.jrcdms.org

The Echocardiography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). www.jrcdms.org

The Funeral Service Education program at Ogeechee Technical College is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE). After January 1, 2004, each accredited program in funeral service education must require that each funeral service education student take the National Board Examination (NBE) as a requirement for graduation. Programs must maintain at least a 60% annual pass rate of first time takers on the NBE. The annual passage rate of first-time takers on the NBE for the most recent three-year period for this institution and all ABFSE accredited funeral service education programs is posted on the ABFSE web site. www.abfse.org

Certification/Licensure Eligible Programs

Commercial Truck Driving graduates are eligible to take the Georgia Commercial Driver’s License examination.

Ogeechee Technical College through the Computer Information Systems Program is an authorized Microsoft IT Academy and an authorized CISCO Networking Academy.

Cosmetology graduates are eligible to take the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology Examination.

Emergency Medical Technician graduates are eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's exam for EMT-Intermediate.

Paramedic Technology graduates are eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's exam for Paramedics.

The Phlebotomy Technician program is approved by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT). ASPT may be contacted at (828) 327-2889 or at P.O. Box 1831, Hickory, NC 28603. Graduates are eligible to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician examination of the ASPT.

Practical Nursing graduates are eligible to take the state board examination administered by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses.
