Several students from Ogeechee Technical College’s Medical Assisting program, along with Program Director Marilyn Turner, were on-hand at the Main Street Farmers’ Market recently to offer blood pressure checks to people attending the Market. “The Market is focused on offering healthy options for our consumers, such as wholesome food, healthy recipes, and the promotion of healthy living in general,” stated Debra Chester, Chair of the Market. “Promoting awareness of health risks like hypertension is also a way the Market tries to help improve the health of the public.” Students who worked at the Market are pictured, left to right, Alija Moore, Simone Avery, Shammonica Graves, and Joya Bady.
