Teena Nguyen has been chosen to represent Ogeechee Technical College at the EAGLE (Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education) Leadership Institute March 18-21, 2013. The Leadership Institute recognizes and honors those students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult education classes and programs.

Nguyen was chosen as winner by a panel of judges locally. John Parker, of Ogeechee Tech’s Evans Technical Education Complex in Evans County was Nguyen’s nominating instructor. “We are proud of Teena and her hard work in reaching this milestone in her life. She recognizes the need for education to help improve her life, and we know she will go far,” said Lori Durden, Ogeechee Tech’s Vice President for Economic Development, who oversees the Adult Education program at the College.

EAGLE is the first statewide program in the nation that recognizes and rewards excellence among students enrolled in adult education programs. This student recognition program is designed to create greater awareness of educational opportunities that are available in local communities across the state and to foster greater involvement in lifelong learning pursuits.

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) through its Office of Adult Education (OAE) sponsors the annual Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) Leadership Institute. Ogeechee Technical College operates Adult Education programs in Bulloch, Evans, and Screven Counties.
