Ogeechee Technical College will hold its annual Spring commencement on May 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Hanner Field House on the Georgia Southern University campus. Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker.
Clark was named President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in November 2010. Since that time, he has led the Chamber through one of the most business-friendly legislative sessions in the state’s history, refocused its attention on investor services and economic development, and developed a plan for the future that will help to ensure the competitiveness of businesses throughout the state for decades to come.
A Georgia native, Clark has served as Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Deputy Commissioner for Global Trade for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. He currently sits on the boards of the Technical College System of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Governor’s Rural Development Council, and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development. He is a Trustee of Georgia Southern University and a member of the Board of Visitors for the University of Georgia.
Clark, his wife Tiffany, and son Christian reside in Peachtree City.
“With an extensive background in business and economic development, Chris Clark will bring insight into ways to succeed in the business world that will be helpful to our graduates,” said Ryan Foley, Ogeechee Tech Vice President for Student Affairs. “We look forward to his message!”
