The Ogeechee Technical College Radiologic Technology Class of 2013 pinning ceremony was held May 2, 2013 in the Joseph E. Kennedy Auditorium with family, friends, clinical instructors, radiologists and alumni in attendance.
The senior class chose Libby Gardner (Clinical Instructor, Winn Army Community Hospital) to be their keynote speaker. Libby encouraged the seniors to grow professionally and to strive for excellence.
Students chose the Clinical Instructor and Radiographer of the Year for the Class of 2013. J.J. Wiggins a 2001 OTC Radiologic Technology program graduate and employee at East Georgia Regional Medical Center was chosen as Clinical Instructor of the Year. J.J. goes above and beyond for our students. Mylissa McGaha Gregory, radiographer at East Georgia Regional Medical Center was chosen as Radiographer of the Year. Mylissa is a graduate from OTC’s Radiologic Technology program (2011).
Student awards were presented during the ceremony, an academic award and clinical award. The Edward Mallinckrodt Award of Excellence was presented to Kellie Williams Lee. Kellie has maintained a 3.97 GPA while in the program.
The second student award was the Student Radiographer of the Year. The recipient of this award is chosen by the 12 clinical education setting clinical instructors and staff radiographers. This year, we had a tie and two students received this award. The students receiving this award were Lauren Andrew and Kellie Williams Lee.
A reception for students and guests was held in the Kennedy building lobby following the ceremony.
