Program Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management program at Ogeechee Technical College is to educate students in the art and science of hospitality management in a customer-focused, problem solving environment that balances theory with practical real-world experience. Graduates who are current practitioners will be capable of obtaining positions that will enhance their career opportunities. Entry-level professionals will be prepared to pursue a variety of career opportunities in the hotel, restaurant and/or travel and tourism industries.
Program goals
- To provide a foundation of traditional academic areas to compliment the state-of-the-art hospitality focus.
- To provide students with a strong business foundation of accounting, human resources, marketing, hospitality law, management and leadership.
- To offer students real-world industry knowledge and training to prepare them to be successful managers in the hospitality industry.
