Institutional Effectiveness Plan (FY 2011)
1. Provide educational programs and courses that serve
the
intellectual and career needs of individuals and the needs of business
and
industry.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
a. Expand and develop programs and offerings by identifying areas of unmet needs.
b. Achieve and maintain applicable program accreditation and pass rates on licensure/certification exams.
c. Achieve consistency of instruction among online and traditional delivery mode.
2. Provide infrastructure and technology to support
teaching,
learning, and administrative functions.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
a. Maintain a plan for faculty, staff, and administration to have secure and reliable access to the information technology network at all times.
b. Establish a core of technology applications for every department and a minimum skills set for every department for the core technology applications.
c. Establish a technology learning center where faculty and staff will have access to the latest technologies and receive training to enhance their professional performance.
d. Maintain policies, procedures, and a code of ethics on the use of technology at OTC.
3. Provide services and resources to promote student
success.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
a. Provide quality staff, services, programs, and facilities to recruit, retain, and graduate students.
b. Implement programs and services to improve enrollment, retention, completion, and placement rates.
c. Provide clean, adequate, safe space in buildings and well maintained grounds.
d. Provide and manage fiscal resources.
e. Provide quality services and goods.
f. Provide an efficient and informative human resources department.
g. Strengthen communication among academic faculty and staff, institutional effectiveness staff, and student affairs staff.
h. Expand and improve Adult Literacy educational opportunities for the College and service delivery area.
i. Maintain a plan for effective public relations.
j. Provide programs and activities for students, faculty, staff, and the community.
4. Provide training programs and services to promote
personal
growth and economic development of business and industry.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
a. Provide private (contract training) and public (continuing education/certificates) offerings to constituents.
b. Provide leadership, coordination, and participation in economic development activities.
c. Provide rental facilities to constituents.
d. Provide efficient and effective administration of the economic development division.
5. Maintain a research-based system of planning,
assessment,
and budgeting to achieve expected outcomes and demonstrate
accountability.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
a. Provide College-wide accreditation management.
b. Integrate planning, evaluation, and use of the results into the institutional effectiveness processes College-wide.
c. Integrate effectiveness of teaching and learning best practices in educational programs through systematic planning and evaluation.
6. Advance the College through developing partnerships
and
securing resources.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
a. Provide external funding through giving programs and events.
b. Maintain an active foundation board of trustees and executive board of directors.
c. Update and improve foundation web-site.
d. Seek state, regional, and national recognition of the office of institutional advancement.
e. Prepare and plan for gift planning campaign.
f. Cultivate the College alumni association.
g. Coordinate grant applications to provide money and equipment for the College.
h. Develop a "donor awareness campaign".
