Q: What are the Library's hours of operation?

A: Fall & Spring Semester: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Summer and student holidays: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Hours may vary during holidays and between semesters.

Q: What circulation and reference options are available with Library Resources?

A: Library materials are available for student, faculty and staff check out. An Ogeechee Technical College student ID is required for student check out. The loan period for students to check out books and other print items is two weeks.

Reference items cannot be checked out but are available for library use only.

Q: Can Ogeechee Tech students borrow books from other libraries?

A: Books may be borrowed from the following libraries:

  • Georgia Southern University
  • Statesboro-Bulloch County Regional Public Library System
  • Other Technical College Libraries in Georgia

Students may also use Interlibrary Loan to access additional materials such as books, dissertations, journal articles, etc. upon request. For more information, please see Library Services.

Q: What are the Library's guidelines?

A: All Students are expected to follow these general OTC Library guidelines:

  • Have a valid student ID to check out books
  • As a courtesy, cell phone ringers must be turned off
  • Children are not allowed in the Library. According to OTC’s Visitors Procedure, anyone below 18 years of age and not currently enrolled in courses is not allowed to be brought to class or left unattended at any location on campus.
  • Keep your voice down and conversations to a minimum

A: To find your email address, visit BannerWeb, login and click on "Personal Information". Then click "View email address".

Q: Where do I go to check my student email account?

A: Go to the OTC Home page, click on the "Current Student" tab. Choose "Student Email" from the drop down menu.

A: Go to the OTC Home page, click on the "Current Student" tab. Choose "Blackboard" from the drop down menu.

Q: How do I access electronic books online? (e.g., encyclopedias, dictionaries, full-text books, etc.)

A: A variety of full-text books, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other books, are available online in electronic format via the GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online) web site. Click on the News/Facts Reference tab on the GALILEO homepage.

Q: How do I request a password to access GALILEO’s full-text databases from home?

A: Each individual TCSG college has its own GALILEO password and is responsible for ensuring that only authorized users have access to the password, which changes on a each term. Authorized users are those students who are currently enrolled at the Ogeechee Tech, as well as currently employed faculty and staff. When a user accesses the GALILEO web site and enters the passwords, they are “authenticated” as a valid Ogeechee Technical College user.

Eligible users may request the current GALILEO password by visiting or contacting the Library, (912) 871-1886. A current Ogeechee Tech student or staff identification card is required when requesting the password. Valid users may not share the institution’s password with anyone else–violations will result in the loss of access privileges and potential disciplinary action by the College.
