Bickerton Receives Leadership Award

Posted on Feb 11, 2019 at 14:42 PM

Molly Bickerton, Director of Admissions at Ogeechee Technical College, was recently presented with the Leadership Award at the Spring Faculty Staff Meeting. Her nomination read, “She is an intentional leader with a thirst to grow. She holds herself every bit as accountable as she does others and is reliable and purposeful.” Another nomination stated, “Inspiring would be the one word I would use to describe Molly.”  Bickerton previously served as the College’s Academic Advisor and not only graduated from Ogeechee Tech but she also holds the honor of being the first state Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner from the College.  Molly said, “In my opinion, vulnerability is one of the most important qualities of a good leader. Being able to ask for assistance and guidance from my staff not only benefits my productivity, but it also allows them to see their supervisor as someone who values their position and contribution to the team. I consider it a privilege that the majority of my staff has more years of service at Ogeechee Tech than I do. Their knowledge and experience are admirable and often referenced by faculty and staff as being reliable resources for students.”

Congratulations, Molly!
