Ogeechee Technical College

Ogeechee Technical College offers several types of federal aid which is referred to as Title IV aid. These programs are the Federal PELL Grant, the Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant, and the Federal Work Study Program. To receive federal aid, students must be enrolled in a Title IV eligible program and must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Federal Pell Grant

Students who demonstrate financial need, who are enrolled in a Title IV eligible program, and who have not received a bachelor's degree may qualify for this grant.  Eligibility is determined by the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated using information provided by the student/parent on the FAFSA. The amount of PELL ranges up to $5815 per academic year.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (
Students who demonstrate extreme financial need may qualify for FSEOG. This federal grant is awarded based on the student’s EFC and the availability of funds. Eligibility is based on a first come-first served basis. Only students who are Pell Grant eligible may receive this grant. This fund is extremely limited and not all eligible students may receive funds.

Federal Work Study (FWS)
The Federal Work Study Program provides employment for Title IV eligible students who demonstrate financial need. FWS gives students the opportunity to work in different environments.   Positions are available on campus or in a community service position on a part-time basis. Students are paid no less than minimum wage and usually work up to 20 hours per week.   Funding is limited as prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education.
