Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for most types of financial aid students must:

• Be enrolled as a student in an eligible program
• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be registered with Selective Service, if required
• Not be in default on a federal student loan or owe a refund on a previously received grant. Agree to use any funds received for educationally related purposes
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress in accordance with OTC policy
• Certify that they will not engage in the unlawful manufacture, distribution, possession, or use of a controlled substance
• Meet other program requirements

Verification Selection

Students who complete the FAFSA may be selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education.  If selected, the student must provide documentation that supports information entered on the FAFSA.  Documentation may include (but is not limited to):

• Verification worksheet
• Student's Social Security Card
• W-2's of student, spouse, or parent
• Birth Certificate
• SSA-1099
