Welcome to the Ogeechee Technical College
Law Enforcement Academy.
The OTC LEA is a Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) Certified Police Academy, providing a Basic Training Program which consists of over 700 hours of rigorous training for persons seeking certification as an entry level law enforcement officer. The OTC LEA’s Basic Training Program is based on unrelenting academics, strong ethics, accountability, and intense physical training. The Basic Training Program is designed to produce the best possible law enforcement officers who are fully prepared for duty in the real world.
In addition to basic law enforcement training, the OTC LEA offers
Georgia P.O.S.T. Accredited Advanced/Specialized Training for certified
peace officers. This Advanced/Specialized Training is designed to
provide the student with a relevant, cutting-edge training experience.
Advanced/Specialized courses are both academically and physically
demanding and far exceed the scope of traditional Advanced/Specialized
Training courses offered in Georgia.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Those considering pursuing law enforcement certification through the
Ogeechee Technical College Law Enforcement Academy will complete 10
required courses that are transferable to the Criminal Justice Degree
(CJT3).

Program Purpose Statement
The Basic Law Enforcement Certificate program prepares students for careers in law enforcement. The program provides students with the education and training necessary to develop the academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.
