OTC Achieves Outstanding Results in National Cyber League Competition

Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) is proud to announce the outstanding success of its students in their debut participation in the National Cyber League (NCL) competitions. Over two weekends, OTC students showcased their exceptional cybersecurity skills in both individual and team challenges, achieving results that rank them among the best in the nation.

“Competing against 8,499 students nationwide in our individual competition, my students displayed remarkable skill and determination in their first-ever national tournament,” said OTC Instructor, Terry Hand. “For a debut performance, these results were incredible. We’re excited about the potential for our students to further refine their skills and achieve even greater results in future competitions.”

There were two OTC teams that participated in the team portion of the national competition. Team #1 ranked 153rd out of 4,898 teams, placing in the top 3.13% nationally, while Team #2 ranked 383rd out of 4,898 teams, landing in the top 7.83% nationally.

“Both our team and individual competitors have set a strong foundation for OTC’s participation in national collegiate cyber security challenges,” said Hand.

The NCL provides an opportunity for students to apply their cybersecurity skills in real-world scenarios, including ethical hacking, cryptography, network traffic analysis, and more. The competitions provide students with a platform to apply classroom knowledge to practical scenarios, enhancing their technical proficiency and preparing them for careers in the rapidly growing field of Cybersecurity.
