Auxiliary of East Georgia Regional Medical Center Scholarship

The scholarships are sponsored by the Auxiliary of East Georgia Regional Medical Center. One scholarship will be awarded to a student in of the following programs who is a full-time student:

  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography Diploma
  • Medical Assisting Diploma Program
  • Pharmacy Technology Diploma Program
  • Practical Nursing Diploma Program
  • Radiologic Technology Program
  • Echocardiography Program

The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and be enrolled spring 2023 semester. Four (4) $2,000 will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $1,000 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Best Friends Veterinary Technology Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by Best Friends Animal Hospital and is available to any student enrolled or accepted in the Veterinary Technology degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and be enrolled full time. One (1) $500 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $250 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Bobby Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Bobby Smith was a native of Screven County and a third-generation farmer. He had a strong belief in life-long learning and championed the very important role that education plays in bettering people, families and communities. He will be remembered for the unconditional love he gave to his family, the extraordinary talent and passion that he had for grilling, and his civic leadership throughout the state. Bobby Smith served on the Ogeechee Technical College Local Board of Directors. Criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Student must be in good standing with Ogeechee Technical College
  • Recipient must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and enrolled in minimum of 6 hours or more coursework;
  • Student must live in Screven County.

One (1) $1000 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Brannen Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by George K. Brannen and is available to male students enrolled or accepted in practical nursing or other closely related Health Care Science programs with a diploma or degree at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled full-time. One (1) $1000 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

BTC Community Outreach Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the BTC Community Outreach Inc. and is available to full-time and part-time students (6+ or more hours). Preference is given to students enrolled or accepted in the Computer Information Systems/Information Technology degree or diploma program, or Cybersecurity. The student must be a resident of Bulloch County, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Ten (10) $1000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters. 

CFG Wealth Management, LLC Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by CFG Wealth Management, LLC with the intent of helping students who wish to pursue a degree, diploma or certificate in Business Management program of study.

  • Student must be in good standing with Ogeechee Technical College.
  • Student must be enrolled in an OTC certificate, diploma, or degree program in the Business Management programs of study.
  • Student must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • Student must be enrolled in 8 hours of coursework.
  • Two (2) scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for Fall and Spring semesters.

Charlie Joe Mathews Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a degree or diploma program at OTC. The student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled full-time. Four (4) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

David Russell Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and be enrolled full time. Two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $250 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Foundation Certificate Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a certificate program at OTC. The student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better and be enrolled full time. Five (5) $500 scholarships will be awarded and paid in one installment of $500 for the Fall semesters.

General Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better and be enrolled full time. Nine (9) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Hospital Authority of Bulloch County Health Science Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Hospital Authority of Bulloch County and is available to any student enrolled or accepted in the Health Science diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must be a resident of Bulloch County, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, and be enrolled full time. Five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Endowed Scholarship

The family of Jack and Ruth Ann Hill have established an endowment in memory of their parents, Jack and Ruth Ann Hill. From the time Senator Jack hill was elected into office in 1990, he had a profound commitment to higher education. During his tenure with the senate, Sen Hill worked tirelessly with devotion and support of Ogeechee Tech to ensure the College had the resources needed to meet its mission. . One (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Joseph E. and Lalah Kennedy Endowed Scholarship

The family of Joseph and Lalah Kennedy have established an endowment in memory of their father, and honor of their mother. Much of the creation of Ogeechee Technical College can be attributed to Sen. Joseph Kennedy during his tenure serving the Georgia General Assembly. Both Sen. Kennedy and Lalah had a passion for education and the people of south Georgia. The (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Julie Bass Sikes Memorial Scholarship

Julie Bass Sikes passed away suddenly March of 2022. She began her teaching career at Claxton High School in 2012. Because of her excellence in teaching and devotion to her students, friends and teachers from Evans County established the annual Julie Bass Sikes Memorial Scholarship to honor her memory. Preference will be given to a student that has demonstrated a strong sense of community pride and involvement.  

  • Academic High School GPA of 2.5 or higher (as calculated by the Office of Admissions)
  • Student must reside in Evans County
  • Record of extensive high school leadership involvement
  • Record of volunteer community involvement and leadership  
  • Student must be enrolled in certificate, degree or diploma program at OTC

Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Kiwanis Club of Statesboro Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro and is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and be enrolled full time. One (1) $1000 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Mary Betts Cotten Patriotism Endowed Scholarship

Dr. Doyice Cotten established the Mary Betts Cotten Patriotism Scholarship to honor his late wife. Mary was a strong advocate for higher education and held a firm belief that medical technicians, carpenters, mechanics, electricians, welders and other profession were needed for a healthy society. Mary was a world traveler and had a strong belief in freedom, and the free enterprise system. She understood that living in America, one is given many opportunities to succeed. Preference given to student with high financial need and content of essay. Criteria for the scholarship are as follows: Student must be in good standing with Ogeechee Technical College. Recipient must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and enrolled in minimum of 6 hours or more coursework; Recipient must exhibit a financial need for the scholarship; Recipient must be a U.S. citizen and a resident in Georgia’s 4th Senatorial District; When two scholarships are available, one will be awarded to a male applicant and one to a female applicant when there are qualified applicants representing each gender; Recipient must submit a 300 to 500 word essay discussing 1) your personal career goals, 2) how completion of your chosen course of study at Ogeechee Technical College will help you achieve your goals, and most importantly, 3) in what ways does America and the free enterprise system provide opportunities for everyone to succeed. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a male & female and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters. 

Mikell Corey Waters Memorial Scholarship

Corey was the son of Marty and Jessica Waters who passed away suddenly on May 26, 2021. Corey was an avid outdoorsman and known to those closest to him as a “fish whisperer”. Corey loved all things beautiful: flowers, landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, and people. He saw the best in everyone. The main reason the family wishes to honor Corey’s memory and establish this annual scholarship is help someone else who is trying to improve him/herself through education. Criteria for the scholarship are as follows: Student must be in good standing with Ogeechee Technical College; Student must be a non-traditional student with strong financial need; Student must be enrolled in an OTC certificate, diploma or degree program studying in the following programs: Construction, Wildlife Management, or Agribusiness;  Students must be enrolled in 8 hours or more coursework; OTC will provide one (1) $1,000 scholarship at the request of the donor to be divided fall and spring semesters.

Non-Traditional Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a diploma or degree program at OTC and meets the TCSG non-traditional criteria (The student is enrolled in a program for which the field of work is comprised of less than 25 percent of his/her gender.) The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better and be enrolled full time. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Past President Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in a diploma or degree program of study at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled full-time. Two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $250 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Philip Stewart Memorial Culinary Arts Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled in the Culinary Arts diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and be enrolled full-time. One (1) $500 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $250 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Robert T. Cox Agribusiness Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled or accepted in the Agribusiness diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and be enrolled full-time. One (1) $500 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $250 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Rockin' Out Alzheimer's Disease Foundation Scholarship

  • Student must be in good standing with Ogeechee Technical College.
  • Student must be enrolled in the Nurse Aide Certification or Health Care Assistant Certificate programs.
  • Preference is given to student working in a geriatric setting or seeking a career working in geriatric care.
  • Two (2) $1500 scholarship to be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $750 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Rotary Club of Downtown Statesboro

This scholarship is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Downtown Statesboro and is available to any student enrolled in a diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and be enrolled full time. One (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded and in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee and is available to any full-time student enrolled or accepted in the following programs: Agribusiness program, Fish and Wildlife Management, Veterinary technician, or diesel technician program. The student must maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA. In order to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must complete an essay sharing how they intend to pursue careers in agriculture or the agribusiness-related field. (max 300 words) One (1) $1000 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters. 

Statesboro Rotary Club Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Statesboro Rotary Club and is available to any student enrolled in a diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better and be enrolled full time. One (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded and in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Sonic Drive-in Culinary Arts Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student enrolled in the Culinary Arts diploma or degree program at OTC. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and be enrolled full time. One (1) $500 scholarship will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $250 for the Fall and Spring semesters.

The Huldah C. Mingledorff Screven County Bridge Fund Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship will be used to provide scholarships to bridge the financial hardship to help retain and graduate students enrolled from Screven County. Funds will be used by the Foundation to handle to the gap funding like a scholarship. First preference will be given to those nearer completion of program of study. These funds are not to be recovered by the foundation. Student must be enrolled in six or more credit hours, in good standing academically and behaviorally with the College, and has a 2.0 GPA minimum. Preference will be given to a student who is on track to complete his/her program within 2 semesters of completion.  Four (4) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded and paid in two equal installments of $500 for the Fall and Spring semesters.
