Tuition Waivers
Out-of-State and Non-Citizen Tuition Waiver
The fees for an out-of-state student are the same as they are for an in-state student. However, the tuition is doubled for an out-of-state student and quadrupled for a non-citizen student. Out-of-state and non-citizen students can apply for a Tuition Waiver if there is a demonstrated financial need.
Georgia Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver
Residents of Georgia who are 62 years of age or older and who are otherwise qualified may attend Ogeechee Technical College without payment of tuition on a space-available basis. This policy applies to regular and institutional credit courses only. It does not apply to continuing education courses, non-credit courses, or seminars. Proof of age must be presented at registration. The tuition waiver application can be found here.
State of Georgia Post-Secondary Tuition Waiver
The State of Georgia Post-Secondary Tuition Waiver Program exempts or waives payment of tuition and fees (and where applicable, on-campus housing) for students attending a technical college within the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). Eligible students must be a youth or young adult under the age of 28 who is currently in foster care, has experienced foster care, or who was placed for adoption by the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.

Proctoring Fees
A proctored event must be one that is accomplished on campus or through the LMS as specified by the instructor. Instructors who choose to require a proctored event in an online course will outline the requirements on the course syllabus. Students living farther than 50 miles from campus who cannot come to Ogeechee Technical College for the event must secure an approved proctor. The site and the proctor must meet the College’s requirements.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the proctored event arrangements made by the course instructor. However, if a student is not able to adhere to the process outlined by the instructor, the student can request approval from their instructor.
- Student requests to complete the proctored event with a third-party must be communicated to the course instructor in writing as soon as possible, but no later than one week prior to the event date announced by the instructor.
- Students approved to test at an alternate site are responsible for locating and scheduling the proctored event.
- Proctors and location must be approved in advance of the event by the instructor.
Proctoring Fees
- Third-party proctor fees may apply and are the responsibility of the student.
- Students may complete the proctored event at any TCSG college at no cost to the student. A list of TCSG test proctoring sites and contacts may be found by clicking HERE.
Adult Education students attending the adult basic education programs shall not be charged tuition nor be required to purchase any books or other materials that are needed for participation in the program. GED testing fees, however, must be covered by the student. The fee, in Georgia, for the GED® test is $40 for each sub-test or $160 for the entire battery of tests. Scholarships may be available to eligible students who are enrolled in a GED® program and meet minimum requirements.
Note: All requests for waivers of tuition and/or fees are to be submitted to the President.
