The Student Leadership Council (SLC) at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold the first blood drive of the year on OTC’s campus.
The Red Cross set up in the Oak Room of the Jack Hill Building from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19 and collected 32 units of blood on a goal of 22.
In addition to volunteers from the SLC, were volunteers from “Arpe Diem” the Cybersecurity Club, SCNATVA, Teachers in Training, “TNT” the Early Childhood Club, NTHS, and FBLA.
To date, OTC has hosted a total of 57 drives and collected 1,807 units.
“It’s always an exciting day to exceed our goal,” said Beckie Snyder, Administrative Assistant for AVPSA. “Each donation can save up to 3 lives.”
Ogeechee on the Go is the name of Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
