The Student Leadership Council (SLC) at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold the third blood drive of 2024 on OTC’s campus.

The Red Cross set up in the Oak Room of the Jack Hill Building from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27 and collected 21 units of blood.
SLC sponsored the blood drive and there were additional volunteers from the National Technical Honors Society (NTHS), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and Student Chapter National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA).

To date, OTC has hosted a total of 55 drives, collected 1,757 units, and had 2,039 total donors.

“If it weren’t for the generosity of blood donors, many wouldn’t be here with us today. Giving blood truly gives the gift of life,” said Beckie Snyder, Administrative Assistant for AVPSA.

Ogeechee on the Go is the name of Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
