Business Management Students Get Lessons in Personal Finance
Posted on Mar 19, 2025 at 8:57 AM
The Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) Business Management Program hosted guest speakers Brannen Smith and Lisa Hodges from Morris Bank to share insights with OTC students on personal finance.
The guests took time to share with the students the importance of establishing responsible financial decision-making goals, how to establish and maintain your credit score, and what banks look for when considering business or personal loans.
“The way you handle your own personal finances often bleeds into the way you handle business finances,” said Business Management instructor, John Witherington. “It is really important for our students to be able to have conversations with local experts about managing finances, handling credit cards, and the different strategies for saving money, before they apply those same principles to their own company, or a company they work for.”
