Group Photos of Officers who participated in trainingOgeechee Technical College Director for Campus Safety, Ryan McNeal, expands campus safety services by participating in State Opioid Adapted Response (SOAR) Training last month.

According to a statement released by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, the 4-hour session trains safety responders to effectively administer Naloxone “NARCAN” to individuals suffering from an opioid overdose. Additionally, public responders learn how best to protect themselves and victims from further exposure.

“I am glad to have been extended the opportunity to participate in such excellent training from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center,” said McNeal. “There is a statewide push for this training and collaboration between the GPSTC and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. It is important for campus safety to be prepared for anything, and this gives us the opportunity to provide immediate care should this circumstance arise.”
