Claxton Mayor Names Nov. 15 "American Enterprise Day" in Honor of FBLA Collegiate

The Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) chapter of FBLA Collegiate received a proclamation from City of Claxton Mayor Terry Branch designating Nov. 15 as “American Enterprise Day,” in recognition of FBLA’s National Entrepreneurship Month.
“It’s truly an honor to have Mayor Branch recognize the accomplishments of our chapter and the merits of our organization,” said Angie Glisson, faculty co-advisor. “Partnering with the City of Claxton to proclaim American Enterprise Day was especially meaningful because it connects our chapter’s mission to the economic heartbeat of our own community. It’s about fostering growth, leadership, and pride in Evans County and beyond.”
In celebration of the proclamation, the chapter also welcomed a local entrepreneur to its November meeting, offering members firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of building a business.
“Entrepreneurship Month is a powerful reminder of the opportunities and innovation that drive our communities forward. For me and our FBLA Collegiate chapter at OTC, it means inspiring future leaders to think creatively and boldly,” Glisson added.
Entrepreneurship Month, celebrated each November across the United States, honors the innovators, risk-takers, and visionaries who propel the economy. For FBLA, it’s an opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit that defines its members.
Present for the proclamation signing were faculty co-advisors Angie Glisson and Michael Twisdale, along with chapter president Kendall Platt.
