DeLoach Awarded 2019 Optician of the Year

Ogeechee Technical College’s Deborah DeLoach has been named the 2019 Optician of the Year by the Opticians Association of Georgia. When asked what this award means to her, DeLoach responded, “I am humbled and honored to receive this award among so many outstanding opticians in this state. Opticianry is a rewarding field. I wish more people understood what a licensed optician brings to the table. We not only fill lens prescriptions but also recommend what is safer, healthier and more comfortable.”
DeLoach currently serves as the program director for Ogeechee Tech’s Opticianry program, which is the only accredited opticianry program in Georgia. For more information about this program visit www.ogeecheetech.edu/ophd.
