The George W. Strickland Jr. Foundation, a long-time supporter of the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation, was recently recognized at the TCSG Leadership Conference in Savannah as a Distinguished Service Award recipient for the college.

Nominated by the OTC Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees, The Strickland Foundation has a long-documented history of service to Ogeechee Tech through the continuous giving to the OTC Annual Fund. In 2017 they gave a significant gift of $500,000 to Ogeechee Tech that is the largest in OTC history. Again this year, the Strickland Foundation has continued to demonstrate their dedication to service and leadership by giving an additional $100,000 to create a resource to retain students known as the Guarantee Program. The program is specifically designed to help students continue their coursework while biding them additional time to meet their financial obligations.

Attendance at the TCSG Leadership Conference included leadership from both the TCSG state offices as well as key leadership from each of the 22 technical colleges in the state of Georgia.  Wendell Godbee, President of the George W. Strickland, Jr. Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the Foundation.
