Ogeechee Technical College’s Adult Education Program hosted its annual GED Celebration on Monday, April 28, in the River Room of the Occupational Studies Building. This year's theme, “Growth, Grit, and Goals,” reflected the resilience, determination, and personal transformation of students who earned their GED during the FY25 academic year.

A total of 28 students achieved this important milestone, with five—Emily Cone, Ericton Coney, Logan Heath, Danielle Eason, and Tanner Lee—participating in the live ceremony.

The event featured:

•    Welcome and Opening Remarks by Career Services Specialist Venus Mack

•    Invocation and Occasion from Dean Nicole Peeples

•    Motivational Address, “The Power of Perseverance,” delivered by instructor Tawanna Jackson

•    Presentation of GED Certificates by Administrative Assistant and Data Manager Sheena Carter

•    Graduate Reflections, with students sharing personal stories and future aspirations

•    Closing Encouragement from Dean Peeples

This year’s GED graduates included:

Jeffery Allen, Bryan Bozeman, Kimbella Black, William Blackwell, Christopher Breault, Brooks Cleary, Emily Cone, Ericton Coney, Danielle Eason, Julius Evans, Sean Heard, Triyp Hegerman, Nardia Hayles, Logan Heath, Trenith Jordan, Destiny Knight, Tanner Lee, William Manley, Javarris Monroe, Joshua Phillips, Christopher Pierce, Raymond Pierre, Jerry Price, Alexislee Sanders, Jamarion Sharpe, Trenton Stapleton, Oscar Titus, and Seaborn Tolver.

“Our graduates have shown exceptional perseverance,” said Dean Peeples. “Earning a GED is not just an academic milestone—it’s a declaration that no matter the obstacle, growth is always possible, goals are always worth pursuing, and grit will carry you through.”

The celebration also honored the dedicated instructors, aides, specialists, and coordinators serving the Bulloch, Evans, and Screven County campuses—whose support is vital to the success of the program.
