Kay Blocker Named to OTC Board of Trustees

Ogeechee Technical College welcomed Kay Blocker, Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer at South Georgia Bank, to its Foundation Board of Trustees on August 27, 2025.
“Kay’s extensive background in local banking and her deep roots in Evans County make her an exceptional addition to our Foundation Board of Trustees,” said VP for College Advancement, Larry Mays. “Her insight into the financial needs of our region, combined with her passion for community service, will help further our mission of supporting student success and workforce development.”
Blocker brings more than three decades of community banking experience to the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees, where she proudly serves as a voice for local needs and regional workforce development. A lifelong resident of Evans County, Blocker works at South Georgia Bank, offering a neighbor-first approach that reflects her deep ties to the community. Her academic background includes the University of Georgia’s banking school and LSU’s Graduate School of Banking and Finance, blending formal training with hands-on expertise to better serve area families and businesses.
A lifelong resident of Evans County, Kay remains deeply engaged in service beyond her profession. She is an avid supporter of Spay Claxton, the Evans County Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Police K9 Foundation.
Outside of her professional and civic roles, she enjoys saltwater fishing, exotic hunting, and spending quiet time with her Belgian Malinois, Gage. Her commitment to community and passion for service make her an asset to the Foundation and its mission.
The Mission of the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation is to secure and administer monetary donations, grants, and other funds from constituents within its service delivery area to support Ogeechee Technical College in its quest to contribute to economic, educational, and community development by providing quality technical education and services, adult education, continuing education, and customized business and industry workforce training to the citizens of the communities it serves.
