Posted on Apr 08, 2019 at 14:08 PM

Jan Martin, Director for the Radiologic Technology program at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC), was recently selected to be a member of the inaugural class for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Educator Institute, a program for imaging and radiation therapy educators. The Educator Institute was created to teach current principles of adult education, classroom management, curriculum design, technology in the classroom, and administration processes. Educators completed online learning modules over five-weeks prior to meeting in Albuquerque in March. 160 applications were received by the ASRT office and 15 applicants were chosen from across the United States. Also attending the institute were representatives from other national organizations: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology (ACERT), Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences (AEIRS), Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), and Lambda Nu Honor Society. Dr. Ryan Foley, OTC Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, said, “It does not surprise me that Jan was selected for the ASRT Educator Institute. Her passion for Radiologic Technology is inspiring. She is a true advocate for her profession and for her students. She works tirelessly to ensure her students are prepared for both the national registry exams and for the workforce.”
