Blood Drive LogoPhi Beta Lambda (PBL) and the National Technical Honors Society (NTHS) at Ogeechee Technical College recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold the third blood drive of 2022 on OTC’s campus.
The Red Cross set up in the Occupational Studies Building from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31 and collected 29 units of blood, 4 more than their goal of 25.
The student volunteers headed by advisors Michael Twisdale (PBL) and Lisa Lanier (NTHS), assisted with checking in donors and handing out canteen items after their donation.
Since June of 2012 OTC has held 48 blood drives and has collected 1,603 units of blood from 1,885 donors.
Ogeechee on the Go is the name of Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
