The Student Leadership Council at Ogeechee Technical College recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold a blood drive at the College.
The Red Cross mobile unit was parked outside of the Health Science North building from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and they collected 18 units of blood.
“Due to COVID restrictions the employees stayed on the bus and communicated to the school via text message,” said Beckie Snyder, Administrative Assistant to VPSA. “Each person wanting to donate had their temperature taken as a precaution and was also tested for COVID antibodies.”
The mobile unit will return to campus on October 28, 2020 and will collect donations at the Health Science North traffic circle.
Ogeechee on the Go is the name of Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
