Ogeechee Tech Hosts College, Career & Industry Expo

Ogeechee Technical College hosted its College, Career & Industry Expo Sept. 23, bringing together 10th grade students from Bulloch County schools to explore educational programs and connect with local industry leaders.
Students from Statesboro High School, Portal Middle High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, and the Transitions Learning Center attended the event. Students participated in brief sessions highlighting Ogeechee Tech programs, related career opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, and local employment opportunities.
“It's important for students to be able to see firsthand how the programs we offer at Ogeechee Tech connect directly to career opportunities in our community,” said Michelle Fields, Director of Admissions at Ogeechee Tech. “When students can see the skills they can learn and the careers those skills can lead to, it helps make their future feel more tangible and attainable.”
Industry partners, including Crider Foods, Ajin Georgia, Howard Lumber, Ace Electric, Bulloch Solutions, Bulloch Fire, Briggs & Stratton and Claxton Poultry, also participated, helping students better understand the connection between technical education and careers available in the region.
The event was designed to spark students’ interest in future careers, broaden their awareness of educational opportunities, and demonstrate how an education at Ogeechee Tech can help prepare them for the workforce.
