President Durden holds State of the College address

Ogeechee Technical College President, Lori Durden, delivered a State of the College address on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Joseph E. Kennedy Auditorium.
President Durden began by discussing the progress that Ogeechee Tech has made since the college held its first academic class 30 years ago and how it remains a student-centered educational institution. She pointed out several major accomplishments achieved by the college in the last year including the opening of the Industrial Technology Building, a student satisfaction rate that is 15% higher than the national average, and increased enrollment.
President Durden explained that the continued growth at Ogeechee Tech can be attributed, at least in part, to the dedication of the faculty and staff. “Our success here at Ogeechee Tech is a direct reflection of the work done by our dedicated faculty and staff. Helping students reach their full potential is their top priority.”
Also during the State of the College address, President Durden recognized several accomplishments by Ogeechee Tech faculty.
Those recognized were:
Deborah Deloach, Optician of the Year
Matthew Gainous, participated in the Global Faculty Training Initiative
Susan Pope, participated in the Georgia Master Teacher Experience
Billie Walker, OTC’s “Instructor of the Year” and regional finalist for the Rick Perkins Award
Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. OTC provides student‐centered academic and occupational programs and support services at the associate degree, diploma, and certificate levels. OTC utilizes traditional and distance education methodologies in state-of-the-art facilities while supporting adult education, continuing education, and customized business and industry workforce training.
