Ogeechee Tech Receives USDA Grant

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Agency recently awarded a Rural Business Enterprise (RBEG) grant to Ogeechee Technical College. The USDA grant funds were used to purchase a tractor with precision agriculture solutions for the Agribusiness and Fish & Wildlife programs at the College. The equipment will be integrated into the existing curriculum and will assist the College in training individuals as agriculture operators. Ogeechee Tech President, Lori Durden said “Ogeechee Tech is honored to have been awarded this grant. Agribusinesses in our area will benefit greatly from the implementation of this project. We are dedicated to producing qualified workers to satisfy employer needs. Thanks to the generosity of the USDA, we will be able to train our students on equipment with cutting-edge technology.” USDA Rural Development is committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
