Ogeechee Technical College Welcomes Three New Members to the Board of Directors

Ogeechee Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Burdett, Adam Kennedy, and Tremaine Melvin to its Local Board of Directors.
“I am honored to welcome Marie, Adam, and Tremaine to our Board of Directors. Their leadership, expertise, and deep commitment to our community will strengthen our mission of providing quality education and workforce development opportunities across our region,” said OTC President Lori Durden.
Marie Burdett (Chief Nursing Officer - East Georgia Regional Medical Center)
Marie Burdett, MSN, RN, brings over three decades of progressive healthcare leadership experience to the OTC Board of Directors. She has held senior executive roles in hospitals across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Missouri, including her current position as Chief Nursing Officer at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where she oversees nursing operations for a 150-bed acute care hospital. Her career includes executive roles across multiple states in both for-profit and non-profit hospitals, with recognition as a Becker’s “Hospital CNO to Know” in 2023 and 2024. With her expertise in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and servant leadership, Marie’s experience aligns strongly with OTC’s mission of excellence and community workforce development.
Adam Kennedy (Executive Director - Economic Development Authority of Claxton & Evans County)
Adam Kennedy brings extensive public service and community leadership experience, along with a longstanding relationship with OTC through his service on the Foundation Board from 2020-2025. Currently Executive Director of the Economic Development Authority of Claxton & Evans County, he retired after 35 years with Georgia’s Juvenile Justice System, where he served as Regional Administrator overseeing operations in 44 Southeast Georgia counties. With additional leadership roles on the State Board of Juvenile Justice, Evans County Board of Education, and local community organizations, Adam’s deep ties to the region and proven commitment to OTC position him as a strong advocate for the college’s mission.
Tremaine Melvin (Manufacturing Production Manager - JKEKT)
Tremaine Melvin, a Manufacturing Production Manager for JTEKT North America, brings both professional expertise and deep community commitment the OTC Board of Directors. A proud graduate of Ogeechee Technical College and Savannah Technical College, Tremaine has built a successful career with a global manufacturer while remaining rooted in his hometown of Sylvania. His leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity, faith, and service, guiding him in mentoring others and inspiring those around him. Through his role leading JTEKT’s Community Outreach Group, he has demonstrated a strong dedication to giving back, aligning well with OTC’s mission of education, workforce development, and community impact.
