OTC Nursing Students Hear from Nurse Manager

Heidi Longenberger, a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and Nurse Manager at The Midwife Group Women’s Health and Birth Center in Savannah, was on the Ogeechee Technical College campus on June 3 to speak to students in the Practical Nursing program. Longenberger discussed working in a women’s health and birth center, and the clinical aspects of child birth. The students were also able to perform a childbirth simulation with Longenberger's assistance. Longenberger has won Connect Savannah’s Best Nurse award for the past five years. Sharlene Conley, OTC Practical Nursing program director, said, “It is always beneficial to students to get the perspective of someone working in the field. Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with our students.”
