OTC student organizations serve 304 meals at local soup kitchen

Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) student organizations continued their commitment to serving the community on Saturday, September 19, by sponsoring the Statesboro Soup Kitchen at Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
FBLA, the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), and Student Leadership Council (SLC) sponsored the day's service, with student volunteers representing Cybersecurity, FBLA, NTHS, SLC, and SkillsUSA.
Together, volunteers served 104 hot meals featuring chicken macaroni and cheese, green beans, and cookies. The group also prepared and distributed 200 brown bag lunches, providing a total of 304 meals to members of the community.
Community service efforts like the soup kitchen are part of Ogeechee on the Go, Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes throughout the community.
